In order to ensure good teachers for the future, we provide bursaries to good prospective students, who can return to Windhoek Gymnasium after completion of their studies.
The Namibian National Curriculum is followed, and a lot of enrichments are built in where possible and necessary. For grades 11 and 12, the Namibian Secondary Schools Curriculum is followed (underscribed by Cambridge).
All new applicants complete an admission test, in order to ensure that the learners can maintain the above-average academic standard, so that all learners in a class can function on the same standard, and gifted learners can excel.
Learner numbers are limited to 28 per class, which ensures individual attention of teachers to learners.
Top quality equipment is used in the teaching process. The computer labs are fitted with laptop computers, 24-hour broadband access to the internet, and every child has his/her own e-mail address from grade 1 to 12. The hall is equipped with a high quality projector and music and sound system. Every classroom in the secondary school, and many in the primary school, is equipped with an electronic smart board, projector and surround sound.
